Microwave

One of my friends could be called totally uninhibited. Once we both met in a big department store in the center of a city. He was dying to eat grilled chicken. But the line was very long. And I pointed it out to him. He stood there for a while thinking. "It is gonna be a chicken now". He actually left and came back in a little while with a chicken. He bought it row then went to the electrics department. There he knocked about, "chose a model", "checked how it works" on that chicken. And took his leave

Ray Douglas Bradbury

Yesterday I finished rereading three volumes of Bradbury. At the end of the third volume, as usual, it was a review recovering a story of his success. It turns out to be that at first when they were finished his "Martian Chronicles" were refused by publishers. And then he got lucky. At the next publishing house his manuscript went in the hands of the editor by the name ... Bradbury. The author of the review does not claim that the publisher's only motive was the writer's name. But still ... Immediately after the release of "Chronicles" Bradbury became famous and the publisher got the impressive profit. The following books already came with subtitles "From the author of The Martian Chronicles".

Harry Sergeevich Truman

Once in the early '90s in an American teen comedy I heard a curious fact. But first a little bit about the movie plot. Simple and dashing grandfather and his deadhead grandson exchange their bodies for a while. And a mischievous old man solves some problems for the grandson. And there is a moment when the grandfather tells the "little known" fact of Truman`s life. That S. in his name means Sergey - seems to be that his mother loved Russian literature and identified her hobby in that way.
Then I almost believed it, but was never able to check. Now I found out that S. is initial. Names of both Truman grandfathers began with S.

The knight of the Mobile Countenance

Recently I stood at the bus stop. Nearby stood a young guy. He looked quite ordinary but was wearing a hat which looked like one a medieval nobleman would have. And here showed up a girl walking toward him and telling him something. Guy`s hand went in the direction of a head. I instantly thought: "Well done! Wants to tip his hat to greet a lady." Alas! "Musketeer" just decided to pull the earpiece from his ear.
